Coroner seeking next of kin for Lexington man found dead at home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Fayette County Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the next of kin for a Lexington man who was found dead at his residence on Friday.

According to a release from the coroner’s office, 57-year-old Shane Christopher Nelson died on April 11, around 3:14 p.m. The cause of death is still pending, but officials say the manner of death has been determined to be natural.

The incident happened at Nelson’s residence. Authorities have not provided further details about the circumstances surrounding his death.

The coroner’s office is currently trying to contact any relatives or next of kin for Mr. Nelson. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 859-455-5700 or email fayettecoroner@lexingtonky.gov.

“We appreciate the public’s assistance in helping us ensure Mr. Nelson receives the proper arrangements and notifications,” the release said.
