Coroner identifies victim in Larkin Road homicide as investigation continues
UPDATE: LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman killed in a Lexington homicide Thursday morning.
The coroner says the victim is 29-year-old Anisleys Font Lantaron. Her death has been ruled a homicide. According to the coroner’s office, Lantaron died from stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The homicide happened at an apartment on Larkin Road.
According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were sent to the 2500 block of Larkin Road around 10:45 a.m. Thursday and found the female victim inside the residence.
Police say 43-year-old Roberto Buffill Paredes was arrested later that day at the same address.
According to the arrest citation, Paredes is charged with murder (domestic violence), tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse. The citation states investigators allege Paredes intentionally caused the victim’s death using a deadly weapon. It further alleges that after the victim’s death, he attempted to clean the scene and wrapped the victim’s body in blankets.
The citation also states that during an interview with investigators, Paredes admitted to the assault and to tampering with evidence and the abuse of the corpse.
Paredes is currently being held in the Fayette County Detention Center. Court records show the charges are not prepayable.
The investigation remains ongoing.
