Coroner identifies teen fatally shot in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the teenager who died over the weekend after being shot in a Lexington apartment.
The coroner says she is 17-year-old Alisa Reed.
Lexington police are investigating her death as a homicide.
Police say Reed was in an apartment on Palumbo Drive Thursday night when there was a shooting.
They say several other teenagers were inside the apartment with her. Investigators say drugs were involved.
According to Fayette County Public Schools spokesperson Lisa Deffendall, Reed was a senior at Frederick Douglass High School.
Deffendall says grief counselors were at the high school on Friday after the shooting and again on Tuesday.
Students at the school observed a moment of silence in her honor Tuesday.
Deffendall says Frederick Douglass students will conduct two weeks of random acts of kindness in Reed’s memory.
