Coroner Identifies Lexington Teen Shot Near Tates Creek High School

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)-The Fayette County Coroner has released the name of the teenager shot and killed Friday afternoon. They say he was 17-year-old David Fletcher Jones.  Police say the shooting happened before 5:30 pm Friday at a home on Honey Jay Court near Tates Creek High School, which was secured last night for about 30 minutes as a precaution.

Officers say Jones was hanging out with friends in the basement of the home when he was shot in the face. Police say they are looking for three or four suspects, possibly armed. The mother of two of the boys in the basement at the time tells police she  heard the gun shot and was unaware of any weapons in the house.

Two of her sons are now missing and police say they have not found the gun.
