Corbin man dies, three others injured in Whitley crash
WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 53-year-old Corbin man was killed Tuesday night in a two-car crash in Whitley County.
According to the Kentucky State Police Speed M. Tye died from injuries when his 2020 Kia collided with a 1991 Cadillac driven by 20-year-old Kristopher P. Watts on Cumberland Falls Highway in Whitley County.
The crash happened at about 9:15 p.m.
Watts was transported by Whitley County EMS to Baptist Regional Medical Center and his passengers, 19-year-old Jace E. Maiden, of Lily, Ky., and 18-year-old Hunter Simpson, of London, were transported by Air Evac to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Toxicology was performed on both operators involved in the collision.
KSP Post 11 Det. Dackery Larkey is continuing the investigation.
He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 Personnel, The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, Oak Grove Fire Department, Woodbine Fire Department, Whitley County EMS, PH-I Air Medical, Air Evac Life team and the Whitley County Coroner’s office.
