Corbin man arrested in child abuse incident
CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Corbin man is behind bars after deputies say he admitted to abusing a 2-year-old child.
Deputies say they received a 911 call about possible domestic abuse at a home on Oak Grove Church Road around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
When they arrived, deputies say a woman, who appeared to have a facial injury, told them that 21-year-old Joshua P. Eaton had hit her while she was trying to protect her child, who also showed signs of abuse.
Deputies say Eaton admitted to “laying hands” on the boy, saying he was annoyed by the toddler’s crying.
The child and the woman were taken to Baptist Health Corbin for treatment. A two-month-old baby was in the home, according to deputies, but was not injured during the incident.
Eaton was taken to the Whitley Co. Detention Center. He has been charged with criminal abuse and assault.
