Corbin, KY to host SOAR Summit

CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – An Eastern Kentucky Mayor is celebrating because her city is finally getting the chance to host a summit dedicated to the future of Appalachia.

Corbin will host the 2021 SOAR summit.

SOAR stands for “Shaping Our Appalachian Region”.

It’s a regional nonprofit that advocates for counties in Eastern Kentucky…with the goal of improving the economy.

The focus is to secure connectivity, foster entrepreneurship, and drive innovation.

“I mean this is the first time its left Pikeville, so we just welcome the opportunity and be able to showcase our City and bring together all of Southeast Kentucky and try and reach our highest heights so we’re just really proud and excited” said Mayor, Suzie Razmus.

The summit is scheduled for October.
