Copper Theft Leaves Thoroughbred Park Fountain Dry

Lexington Police said a copper theft caused $10,000 in damage at Thoroughbred Park.

It’s located near Main Street and Midland Avenue.

Investigators said the thieves drained the fountain and stole 23 copper sprinkler heads.

The fountain’s motor was damaged in the process.

The Parks Department was working to repair it.
