Convicted felon arrested after firing shots from hotel window
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A convicted felon from Waco has been arrested following shots fired from a Richmond hotel early on Saturday.
According to Richmond Police, a call came in around 3:27 a.m. on Sept. 11 reporting gunfire on Keeneland Drive. Once on the scene, officers found shots being fired from the hotel window. Officers worked quickly to get guests out of the hotel and secure them in a safe location nearby.
The Richmond Police Emergency Response Unit came to the scene and made contact with the suspect inside the room, Samuel Riddell, 55, of Waco. Riddell was in the room with a female who was in the bathroom until police safely got her out.
Riddell was eventually taken into custody. During detectives’ interview with him, Riddell said that he saw aliens in the parking lot and was shooting at them.
Authorities discovered Riddell was a convicted felon and was in possession of two handguns and a semi-automatic rifle. He faces the following charges:
