Congressman Andy Barr gives sendoff to students entering into military academy
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Congressman Andy Barr hosted his annual ‘Service Academy Sendoff Ceremony’ Thursday morning to honor this year’s nominees attending military service academies. Among the nominees was Janna Whaley, who will be entering the Air Force Academy.
Whaley, a graduate of Henry Clay High School, expressed that dedication was instrumental in reaching this point. She stated, “I’m extremely lucky and blessed to have this opportunity and be honored like this. It took a lot of hard work and dedication, so to be standing here today and telling everyone they can do it too, I feel lucky.”
Whaley is set to depart for her in-processing day in less than one month, marking the beginning of her journey at the Air Force Academy.
