Confirmed case of Hepatitis A at Anderson County High School
ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Anderson County High School confirms that a student has been infected with Hepatitis A.
Anderson County schools sent out a letter Thursday to all students and staff who may have come in contact with the student.
The school says they have started deep-cleaning procedures outlined by the Anderson County Health Department. The school will not be closing.
The school says students are required to have a Hepatitis A vaccination, so those who have it are not considered at risk. Those who have not had the vaccine and were around the infected student are being told to get vaccinated.
The school tells anyone who was around the student and begins showing symptoms is directed to see their healthcare provider immediately.
