Complacency concern
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The basketball Cats are back in action Friday hosting Utah Valley State at 7 o’clock to tip off the regular season at Rupp Arena.
Through practice and 3 exhibitions, there’s concern among Solid Blue fans about the Cats’ depth minus Jemarl Baker and Jarred Vanderbilt…about conditioning and rebounding as well.
What’s the one thing that would concern the staff at this point?
Complacency. The staff can’t have the team stagnating and not improving…despite having the blueprint to succeed: what to eat, how long to sleep, how to work out and practice.
Keeping that in mind, if you ask Cal, the Cats seem to be showing signs of slipping early.
The guys just aren’t in peak performance every possession or play.
So the priority list of what to fix has kind of turned to a basic concept rather than particular elements on the floor.
Hear from Cal and assistant coach Joel Justus in the video.
