Company sued for scamming local businesses
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Close to one thousand small business owners in Kentucky are getting money, the state says they were scammed out of.
The Office of the Attorney General announced the $125.00 refund checks are coming from a settlement against corporate record services out of Michigan.
According to the lawsuit, the company sent mailers out to the businesses; giving them the impression Kentucky law requires them to submit annual meeting minutes. A service the company said it would provide for $125.00.
The lawsuit also states the company passed itself off as a government entity.
