Questions remain following death of mother & son

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a body was been found in Jessamine County, while they were continuing a death investigation.

Officers say 62-year-old Elizabeth Lee Morgan was found dead in her home on Pinoak Drive Tuesday afternoon. Police say the death is considered “suspicious,” though they say they have not found any signs of forced entry or foul play.

Morgan’s vehicle was found along US 68 near the county line on Tuesday night, according to officials.

The Jessamine County Coroner says after hours of searching the area 31-year-old Lucas Greene’s body was found half in the water against a rock.

Greene is Morgan’s son and his cause of death is unknown at this time, according to the coroner.

No word yet on whether his death is connected to the death of his mother.

UPDATE: Coroner identifies victim in Nicholasville death investigation

The Jessamine County Coroner has identified a woman who was found dead in her Pinoak Drive home Tuesday.

The coroner says the victim is 62-year-old Elizabeth Lee Morgan.  A cause of death has not been released, however police say the death is still being considered suspicious.

Officers say they are also looking for Morgan’s son, after her car was found last night off of US 68 at the county line.  Investigators say he is not a suspect in the case, but that the car was in a hiking area he frequents.  Police say, at this point, they just want to make sure he is okay.

Community wants answers after neighbor found dead in home

A Nicholasville community wants answers Tuesday after a neighbor was found dead in her home. Police say they are investigating the death as suspicious because the woman seemed healthy. There are no signs of forced entry or foul play, though.

“I guess I’m just in shock. I’m devastated,” Susan Parker, a neighbor, said.

She says the woman who lived across the street had only lived in this house for about six months. The coroner has not released her name yet.

“I just saw her, like I said, Saturday and Sunday, playing football with her Grandkids, and she seemed like everything was okay,” Parker said.

Outside the home on Tuesday, a grief-stricken woman’s sister says her sibling was best friends with the woman found inside, a woman she described off camera as strong-willed even when not strong-bodied. A neighbor down the street, Becky Hacker says Pinoak drive is peaceful.

“It’s a tragedy. You don’t think of anything happening like that. This is just normal, friendly Nicholasville. Nothing happens here,” Hacker said.

For the something that did happen here Tuesday, though, Hacker says she hopes anyone who has done wrong will be caught.

“I just pray that God takes care of all of this,” Hacker said.

Nicholasville Police say the woman will be autopsied tomorrow. That should give them some more answers about what happened to her.
