GEOrGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Georgetown police officer seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Wisconsin is getting some help from the community.

The Georgetown Police Department says officer Cole Centner was in Wisconsin with his wife for their baby shower.

The two are expecting their first child in July.

According to police, Centner was hit on a rural road and suffered multiple leg breaks, broken ribs, a concussion and a collapsed lung.

He is expected to be brought to the University of Kentucky hospital.

According to Georgetown police, Centner has “quite a few surgeries on the horizon and quite a few months before he’s back on his feet.”

The Georgetown Police Department says a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help out Centner.
