Community raising funds for funeral of 9-year-old girl found dead after IAN Alert in Boone County
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Boone County community is asking for public support to help cover funeral expenses for a young autistic girl who was found dead one day after she was reported missing in Northern Kentucky.
According to a GoFundMe page, more than $10,000 has been raised so far to help pay for the funeral of 9-year-old Jenny Dim.
As previously reported, Kentucky State Police issued an IAN Alert after Dim was reported missing Friday afternoon from her home on Macintosh Lane in Florence.
IAN Alerts are issued when children with autism or mental illness are reported missing and may be in danger.
State police said Dim, who was autistic, was last seen walking in her neighborhood.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, search and recovery crews found her body Saturday night in a pond near her home.
