Community champions join forces to support disaster relief efforts

Essential items collected will lend aid to children, families, and seniors in western Kentucky.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/KY CARE PACKAGE) – Local businesses and organizations are collecting essential items needed in areas devastated in parts of western Kentucky by recent storms and tornadoes.

The collaboration is being called the “Kentucky Care Package”.

On Thursday, December 16 through Saturday, December 18 the following Kroger locations will be collecting the items between the hours of 9am-5pm:

Beaumont Centre Kroger: 3175 Beaumont Centre Circle
Man-O-War Kroger: 3101 Richmond Road
Millpond Center Kroger: 3650 Boston Road
Tates Creek Kroger: 4101 Tates Creek Centre Drive

Items Needed
Bottled Water, Baby Formula, Diapers, Nonperishable Food Items, Flashlights, Batteries, Work/Utility Gloves, New Socks, New Undergarments, and Toiletry Items.

According to Kentucky Care Page organizers, volunteers from the Rotary Club of Lexington and Lexington Christian Academy will be manning trailers and box trucks donated by Vincent Fister Moving & Storage.

These trailers and box trucks will be clearly marked, and volunteers will load all donated items.
