Community Celebrates The Life of Stuart

     The neighborhood along Fieldmoor Drive came together Saturday to celebrate the life of 16-year old Stuart Shields, who committed suicide a month ago.

     A block party was held with proceeds from the event being split between a local teen suicide awareness program and a scholarship fund for a Tates Creek student to play lacrosse, the sport Shields loved to play.

     Suicide is the second largest cause of death among teens in Kentucky.

     More than 50 residents in the neighborhood volunteered at the event.

     Even local businesses were on hand selling food and crafts and hold games. There was also live music.
