Coleman DV8 opioid grant

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Attorney General Russell Coleman visited DV8 Kitchen in Lexington Thursday to announce $12 million in statewide opioid grants. These grants, awarded by the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission, aim to support prevention, treatment, and enforcement efforts across the state.

DV8 Kitchen is one of 51 recipients of the grants, which will help bolster initiatives to combat the opioid crisis in Kentucky.

“These grants come as Kentucky is finally making some degree of progress on this front. A new study confirmed that it’s very different than even five years ago; Kentucky has the most treatment beds per capita of any state in our nation. A few years ago, we were having conversations about wait lists of folks in active addiction, some of whom we lost because we could not get them the acute attention they needed,” said Coleman.

The owner of DV8 Kitchen expressed gratitude for the support, stating, “I’m grateful to Attorney General Coleman and the Opioid Abatement Commission for supporting our mission to help our employees reach their full potential.”
