Cocktails and appetizers with Jason Smith

Food Network Personality Jason Smith came on Midday and whipped up a few holiday treats during the show! Here are the recipes:

Lord Honey Fizz

INGREDIENTS: 2 ounce Honey Bourbon, any brand 4 ounce prosecco, any brand Rim: Honey Gold or silver sanding sugar

INSTRUCTIONS: • Place the sanding sugar in a small plate and place small amount of honey in small bowl. • Dip the rim of champagne flutes in honey then into the sanding sugar. • Pour the bourbon into each glass. • Top off with the prosecco. • Tip—Make sure to put the bourbon in the freezer at least 2 hours before serving. • ENJOY!!!!

Krispy Krinkles

INGREDIENTS: 2-pkgs Phyllo cups 1-pound bacon, diced 2-pound white cheddar cheese, cubed 1/2-cup honey 1-TBSP balsamic vinegar 1-cup dried apricots, sliced

INSTRUCTIONS: • Preheat oven to 350. • Spray or line a baking sheet. • Place the Phyllo cups on baking sheet. • Fry cubed bacon until crispy, drain on paper towel. • Place a cube of cheese in each cup. • Divide the bacon between all the Phyllo cups on top of Cheese. • In a bowl mix the honey and vinegar together. • Drizzle the honey mix over bacon. • Bake for 10 mins or until the cheese melted. • Tip-If you don’t want to use the bacon you can use chopped pecans.
