Clouds obstruct Solar Eclipse view in Central Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The highly-anticipated viewing of the 2024 Solar Eclipse in the Lexington area was somewhat muddied by cloud cover in the area.

Most of the ABC36 viewing area was expected to see about a 96.3% totality, according to NASA.

The cloud cover, however, didn’t detour many of our viewers from heading outside at about 3:08 p.m. today (4/08) to look up at the sky and even send us a few pictures of what they saw.

In the United States, the event ended around 4:00 p.m. EDT. Millions across the path from western Mexico to southeast Canada were on hand to experience at least a partial solar eclipse.
