Closures Wednesday for rail crossings in Anderson County

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Temporary closures are scheduled for rail crossings in Anderson County on Wednesday, July 27, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The closures are necessary for repairs to be made by Norfolk Southern Railroad.

The closures are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The locations are:

-US 62/Woodford Street – mile point 20.011
-US 127/North Main Street – mile point 6.612
-KY 512/Alton Station Road – mile point 7.143

Here are alternate routes suggested by the state:

US 62/East Woodford Street – motorists can utilize South Main Street /US 127 south to East Court Street east to North Gatewood Street north to East Woodford Street/US 62.

US 127/North Main Street – motorists can utilize US 62/West Woodford Street west to the US 127 Bypass north to US 127 ‘business’ south.

It is important to note that all three railroad tracks will not be closed at the same time/Norfolk Southern will begin with one crossing and then progress to the next two crossings. There is not a specific order for repair work for the first, second or third crossing.

All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
