Close friend remembers teen who drowned in Ky. River
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Friends and family are remembering Keyan Wickers as a young man who loved life. Monday morning, he was found in the Kentucky River after investigators say he drowned while kayaking.
For Jeremy House, the news of his friend and “brother’s” death didn’t seem real.
“Kind of feels like there’s a knife in my heart, type thing, it’s tough,” says House. He says Wickers’ family practically adopted him.
Wickers’ social media is covered with videos of him singing and dancing. House says one thing he was known for was his smile. Knowing he’ll never see that smile again in person is hard for House.
“I use the analogy, me and him were like a fishing rod. There’s a fishing line and a fishing hook. Without the line there’s no hook and without the hook there’s no line and no point in catching anything.”
There’s a place you can donate to the family to help with funeral expenses. Find it here.
