Climber recovering from a 35 foot fall
MENIFEE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A climber is recovering after falling 35 feet while climbing at Indian Creek in Menifee County, officials say.
According to rescue crews, the climber was leading a route when a handhold broke and his equipment failed, causing him to fall to the ground. A fellow climber, who is trained as a wilderness first responder, provided initial medical care until search and rescue teams arrived on the scene.
The injured climber was taken to UK Hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.
