Clerk Shot During An Apparent Robbery In Danville
Workers said two people were working in the Domino’s on South Broadway when a delivery call came in around 10:20 p.m. One of the employees left to make the run, leaving Zoe Reed, 20, alone in the store.
Employees said the driver realized the address was fake while he was out, and he tried to call Reed at the store. At first there was no answer, but when she later picked up, workers said she acted like nothing was wrong.
We’re told when the driver got back to the store, he found Reed lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the torso.
She was taken to Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center for emergency surgery and then flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital.
Coworkers said she is doing better.
People living nearby said they’re praying Reed fully recovers.
"You wouldn’t think this would happen in a town like this but it does. Sad to know someone was hurt in this. I’ve been around guns all my life and know what they can do. Sad someone was hurt in this situation," said Justin McCormick, a neighbor.
The manager of Domino’s said they do have safety protocols as pizza stores are among businesses that can be targeted when someone is working alone.
Danville Police encourage anyone who may have seen or heard anything to call them at 859-238-1224.
