Clerk, Customers Thwart Armed Robbery Efforts
Lexington Police said a brave clerk and some fast acting patrons helped to thwart the efforts of an armed robber.
24-year-old Bryant Pickering is in jail. The wound on his forehead will heal there for the time being. Officers said that’s from the clerk he tried to rob. It happened at Jackson’s Wine and Spirits on North Limestone.
Officers said once the clerk grabbed the suspect, some customers jumped in to help. They held Pickering down until police said they arrived.
Pickering is charged with first degree robbery.
