Classroom building fire on UK’s campus under investigation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fire officials are investigating an early morning fire on UK’s campus Sunday.

According to the Fire Department, around 4:30 a.m., crews were sent to the 100 block of Leader Avenue for a report of a possible structure fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found fire coming from a trailer-type building.

Officials say it was determined the building was an outdoor classroom trailer.

They say significant structural collapse happened in the center of the building.

The fire was put out and there were no reports of injuries, firefighters said.

A fire inspector was called to the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
