Classes start in Fayette Co.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Several school districts welcomed students back this morning, including Fayette Co., the second largest school district in the state.

More than 40,000 Lexington students headed back to class Monday, and the new head of Fayette Co. Public Schools was joining them.  Superintendent Manny Caulk greeted students at several schools, after starting the day like many of them –  on the bus.

Caulk rode with 55 kids to Mary Todd Elementary. He’s visiting a handful of other schools throughout the day and says he wants to make the first day a good one for everyone.

Caulk came to Lexington from Portland, Maine where he was superintendent there.
