Clark County man accused of copper theft from major highway

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Clark County newspaper is reporting a man’s been arrested after a large copper theft bust.

The Winchester Sun reports 33-year-old Brian Bentley was arrested. Police say he was taking copper from street lights on the Mountain Parkway near the Kiddville Road exit. Bentley was charged with theft and criminal mischief. The paper reports, police accuse Bentley of damaging and removing the copper wiring from 35 lights along the parkway.

He’s charged with theft and criminal mischief and is in the Clark County Detention Center.
