City offering help to those impacted by Village Drive apartment fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The City of Lexington is offering assistance to residents displaced or left without power following Saturday’s apartment fire on Village Drive.

According to city officials, the fire broke out Saturday afternoon in a second-floor unit before spreading to other apartments in the building. The Lexington Fire Department says four adults and two children were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In the days following the fire, Lexington Emergency Management and the fire department have been distributing flyers to affected residents with information about short-term housing options and possible financial assistance.

City leaders say the goal is to help families stabilize as they recover from the fire and begin the process of rebuilding.
