City announces plans to make changes to Phoenix Park

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Construction is set to begin this summer on a major renovation of Phoenix Park in Lexington. Local officials announced Thursday that the one-acre park will undergo a complete re-imagination, funded by a combination of public and private funds.

The renovation will introduce new features and upgrades to the existing amenities of the park. “I know that all members of our community deserve functional, beautiful, and multi-faceted parks, and I am proud to have spent many years advocating for this project and believing in it,” said 3rd District Councilmember Hannah LeGris.

Construction is expected to be completed by early next year, with the park reopening in the spring of 2025.
