Circus Shot By Kentucky’s James Young Highlights Exhibition Win

Kentucky finished its exhibition men’s basketball season Monday with a 95-72 win over Montevallo in Rupp Arena.

The play everyone will remember from the game was turned in by Kentucky freshman James Young.

While jumping out of bounds for a loose ball while playing defense, Young flipped the ball backwards and the long lob went in the Montevallo basket.

The circus shot resulted in a standing ovation from the crowd of 20,039, even though it counted for the opponent.

Kentucky forward Julius Randle scored 21-points to leave five Wildcats in double figures.  He also pulled down 11-rebounds.

Kentucky’s Willie Cauley-Stein finished the game with six blocked shots to go along with 12-points.

Kentucky shot 58-percent from the field for the game and won the rebounding battle 47-to-25.

Montevallo’s Troran Brown led all scorers with 30-points.

Kentucky opens its regular season schedule on Friday, November 8th at home against UNC-Asheville.
