Church broken into, Bait shop burglarized

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — A church was broken into today, says Franklin County Sheriff,  as well as a nearby bait shop.

Officers say an unknown person broke into the West Frankfort Church of God around 6:30 Thursday morning, shattering a stained glass window with a large rock. They say they found a chair below the window and a broom inside, with a rear door open to the back of the building.

Officers say they found empty pocket knife boxes, which leads them to believe the perpetrator was also the person who burglarized the neighboring bait shop that morning.

Deputies say they were able to obtain some forensic evidence, and ask that anyone with information please message Franklin County Sheriff or use TEXT A TIP 502.320.3306.
