Christina Marcum Sentenced To 31 Years

A judge sentenced Christina Marcum to 31 years.  A jury convicted her of of complicity to murder, tampering with physical evidence, and hindering prosecution.

She was convicted for the 2011 killing of Angela Frazier Singleton.

A jury recommended 30 years.  The judge gave her one more year, because she was caught with contraband in jail.

The victim’s stepmother wishes the sentence was even longer.

"What they done to her (Angela), 30 years is never enough, at least life.  We can’t get death penalty, but both of them deserve life.  30 years for killing somebody and dismembering them, how is that justice," asked Alicia Gibson-Canada, Angela’s stepmom.

Frazier Singleton’s husband, Jason, admitted to dismembering Angela’s body, but accused Marcum of killing her.

Angela’s father wants to find peace.

"I hope this is it," said Roger Canada, Angela’s dad.

It won’t be.  Marcum’s attorney plans to appeal the the case to the supreme court.
