Children’s Charity Fund of the Bluegrass to award over $350,000

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The golf doesn’t begin for several weeks, but the celebration starts Thursday, May 30.

Children’s Charity Night at the Whitaker Bank Ballpark, hosted by the Lexington Legends and presented by Keeneland. The Children’s Charity Fund of the Bluegrass will award grants to 47 charitable agencies totaling over $350,000 based on proceeds from the 2018 Classic. And the best part about it, all the money stays right here in the Bluegrass.

Children from the agencies impacted have been invited to attend, and agency representatives will be available for interviews. Buy a general admission ticket and join us to watch the Lexington Legends take on the Charleston River Dogs.

The check presentation reception gets underway at 5 p.m. in the Kentucky Ale Tap Room, and there will be activities for agency recipients throughout the night. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Celebrating its 39th anniversary this year, the Children’s Charity Fund of the Bluegrass has raised more than $13.5 million for children in Central Kentucky. The charity was founded to help provide needed funds for the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass. Its first fundraising activity was a celebrity golf tournament at a time when celebrity golf tournaments were rare. Since then, The Children’s Charity Golf Classic has become one of America’s most enduring and profitable celebrity golf tournaments.
