Child hit by car in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ)- A child was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after being hit by a car.

Lexington police say they were dispatched around 4:05 P.M. to the 200-block of Richardson Place for a collision involving a car and a juvenile.

The incident happene near Edythe Hayes Middle School.

FCPS officials say it did not happen on school property.

Police say the child was taken to the hospital to be checked out and only suffered scrapes and bruises from hitting the road.

The driver of the car was a driver picking up another student.

Police are working with FPCS to investigate.

No charges are expected to be filed.
