Child arrested for setting fire to elementary school

GAMALIEL, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police have made an arrest after a fire broke out Friday at an elementary school.

Troopers say they’ve arrested a kid for setting a fire at Gamaliel Elementary School.

KSP says five school employees were in the building that afternoon, but luckily, all were able to get out safely.

Architects estimate the building faces more than one million dollars in damage.

The child was charged and released to her parents.

An arson investigator says he expects to make more charges.
