CHI St. Joseph Health for the Diabetes Expo

CHI Saint Joseph Health will host its 4^th annual Diabetes and Nutrition Expo on Saturday, March 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This expo is encouraged for people living with diabetes and those who may be at risk for developing diabetes. Topics will include Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes and prediabetes. The event is free to the community. Keynote speaker Robert Salley, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon with Saint Joseph Medical Group – Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, will give a feature presentation about managing diabetes from a heart and vascular perspective. There will also be a panel discussion with a health care team about how to manage diabetes, as well as a cooking demonstration by Chef Bob Denham. There will be educational vendors, giveaways, prizes and free screenings. The free screenings offered will include blood pressure, HgbA1c testing, foot screenings, hearing and vision screenings, and kidney screenings.

The expo will take place at CHI Saint Joseph Health Office Park, located at 1451 Harrodsburg Road in Lexington, Ky., Building D, 4^th floor. The building is located across from Saint Joseph Hospital. Registration and screenings begin at 8 a.m. and the feature presentation begins at 9 a.m.
