Chemical crews safely isolate munitions
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Chemical crews identified and isolated GB rockets emitting vapor, which were originally detected March 13 at the Blue Grass Army Depot.
Using a mobile laboratory, operators detected the vapor during periodic monitoring of an igloo. After removing the rockets, crews monitored that igloo for three consecutive days with no agent detected.
Detecting, isolating and mitigating vapor emissions are a normal part of the safe and secure chemical storage operations at the Blue Grass Chemical Activity.
