Chase and standoff suspect due in court

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man accused of leading police on a chase and barricading himself inside his home is scheduled for a preliminary hearing today at 1 p.m., according to court records.

Justin Whitt, 60, was arrested last week after an hours-long standoff that shut down Highway 151 near the Anderson and Franklin County line.

According to Kentucky State Police, officers attempted to stop Whitt for a traffic violation last Tuesday, but he allegedly refused to pull over, leading to a chase. The pursuit ended when Whitt barricaded himself inside his home, prompting a heavy police presence and road closures for several hours.

Whitt now faces multiple charges.
