Ceremony to honor National Crime Victim’s Rights week

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) — Every year in April, the Office for Victims of Crime gathers together to help communities observe National Crime Victim’s Rights week.

This year, it will be observed between April 10 and 16.

The Georgetown Police Department announced they will be holding a brief ceremony and moment of silence to honor all the lives lost to violent crimes.

They thanked the generosity of Georgetown Rotary Club, Johnson’s Funeral Home, and the 14th Circuit Commonwealth Attorney for donating the lovely bronze plaque, which now hangs in front of the Georgetown Police Department.

Visitors are welcome to bring flowers, wreaths, or any item that reflects what is in your heart, to leave at the plaque.

The event will take place at 550 Bourbon Street in Georgetown, on Monday, April 11, at noon.
