Cell Phone Helps Deputy Track Down Burglary Suspect

A Corbin man was arrested Sunday night in connection to a burglary at a home about six miles outside of London, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said a burglar alarm went off at a home on US 25 and when a Deputy arrived on the scene, a man by a barn at the rear of the home took off into an adjacent field and got away.

Deputy Larry Parrott said he found a vehicle parked nearby at a church and found items in the vehicle that had apparently been stolen from the home near where the vehicle was parked.

The Deputy also said he found items that had been boxed up and were apparently ready to be put into the suspect’s vehicle.

Deputy Parrott said he also found a cell phone in the vehicle that reportedly belonged to the suspect.

The Deputy said he used information in the cell phone and the vehicle information to track the suspect, who he said was found near the home that had been burglarized.

The suspect was identified as David McQueen, 33, of Corbin.

Investigators said McQueen was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree on Foot and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

Investigators said he was also charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on a shoplifting charge.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
