Cats Lose To Arkansas In OT 71-67
Arkansas won in Rupp Arena for the first time in 20-years on Thursday by a final of 71-67.
Arkansas is the only SEC team that has a winning record against John Calipari since he came to Kentucky.
Calipari’s overall record against the Hogs is 2-4 after Thursday’s loss. It’s the first time Calipari has lost to the Hogs in Rupp Arena.
Willie Cauley-Stein came off the bench to lead Kentucky with a double-double. He finished with 16-points to go along with 13-rebounds and 2 blocked shots. He was one of four Wildcats who scored in double figures.
The Cats Julius Randle turned in another double-double with 14-points and 10-rebounds.
Andrew Harrison finished with 14-points and James Young added 11-points for Kentucky.
Michael Qualls, who beat Kentucky with a put back dunk at the buzzer in overtime in the first meeting this season, led Arkansas in scoring Thursday with 14-points.
Kentucky out rebounded the Hogs 47-to-38.
A telling statistic came at the free throw line. Arkansas was perfect, hitting 16-of-16 free throws.
Kentucky hit only 12 of 22 free throws for 54-percent.
Kentucky fells to 21-7 overall and 11-4 in the SEC.
The Wildcats next game is Saturday on the road at South Carolina.
