Cats fan shot while in SC for the game

COLUMBIA, Sc. (WTVQ)- As Kentucky plays South Carolina, at least one fan is in the hospital in critical condition.

A man named Jimmy Brannon says on Facebook his girlfriend, Denise Massey, was shot in the cheek as they were visiting Columbia for the Cats game against the Cocks.

Police in Columbia say four men and four women were shot just about 2 and a half miles from the stadium where the Cats played.

Officers say just after 2 Saturday morning, shots were fired downtown near a club where a lot of people were at the time.

Police say they’re still trying to figure out who made the shots and why.
