Catholic Diocese announces closure of Cliffview Retreat Facility
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The Catholic Diocese of Lexington regretfully announces that it has made the decision to close the Cliffview Retreat and Conference Center, effective Oct. 31. All events currently scheduled at the center through October will still take place.
The decision to close the center came after review by a task force of the center’s revenue, operating costs and a variety of other factors. The task force’s next step is to explore possible options for repurposing the facility, in consultation with a range of stakeholders, including Cliffview management which has pledged its support.
Cliffview Retreat and Conference Center is a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Lexington located in a rural area of Lancaster overlooking Lake Herrington. It opened in 1989.
The Catholic Diocese of Lexington covers 50 counties in Central and Eastern Kentucky, with 59 parishes and missions serving some 46,000 Catholics.
