Car Theft Suspect Arrested After Short Chase

Lexington, Ky – Lexington Police were able to track down and arrest a suspected car thief following a short chase that ended at a dead end.

Officers say the car jacking happened around 6:30am this morning at the intersection of Clay Avenue and High Street. Police tell ABC 36 that a man armed with a gun stole the victims car and drove off.

Police were able to locate the vehicle  and followed the suspect to a dead end where he turned into an apartment complex parking lot on Central Avenue.

The suspect attempted to flee , but was surrounded by police and arrested.

30-year-old Graham Steele was charged with robbery, fleeing and evading, and possession of a handgun by a felon.
