Car hits Lexington restaurant wall

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Dairy Queen restaurant in Lexington is temporarily closed after a car crashed into the building Tuesday evening.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, crews were called to the Lansdowne location just after 6:15 p.m. for reports of a vehicle striking the restaurant. The crash caused minor damage to the building’s exterior and to a bathroom wall inside.

Officials say the driver declined medical treatment at the scene.

As a precaution, the health department and city building inspectors responded and have temporarily closed the restaurant while the damage is assessed. There’s no word yet on when it will reopen.
