Car collides with train in Laurel Co.
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says two people were sent to the hospital after a car collided with a train on Tuesday.
According to the Sheriff, it happened about 10 miles north of London at the railroad crossing on Hazel Patch Road at about 2:25 p.m. Deputies say a car traveling westbound attempted to cross the train tracks and collided with a northbound CSX freight train. Deputies say the driver told them she did not see or hear the train approaching.
The driver, 63-year-old Annetta Conley of East Bernstadt was airlifted from the scene to UK hospital. The passenger, 37-year-old Melissa Conley, identified as the driver’s daughter, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in London for treatment.
