Police: car on fire Thursday on Iron Works Pike was stolen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a car found on fire Thursday on Iron Works Pike was stolen.

Police say around 5:30 p.m. they were dispatched for a call about a red passenger car that had hit a tree on the 600 block of Iron Works Pike.

When officers arrived, they found the car on fire. They also say several people ran from the car, but one man returned and told officers he just ran to get away from the fire.

Later, officers found the car had been stolen, but police say no charges have been placed as of now.

No one was hurt.
