Camper hurt near Swift Creek
WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A camper has his brother and the Wolfe and Powell County Search and Rescue Teams to thank after he got hurt this weekend near Swift Creek.
The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team says around 9:30 p.m. the man and his brother were camping along the creek when one of them got cut.
The team says the campers controlled the bleeding well, but trying to walk out of the campsite just meant too much blood loss.
According to the team, the brother hiked out and called 911.
When medics responded, they helped control the bleeding and made a crutch from a tree limb to help him walk out onto the trail head.
